Methodology: State average premiums by policy form (HO-3 owner-occupied, HO-4 tenant/renters, HO-6 condo, plus HO-2/HO-5 where published) are the NAIC Dwelling Fire/Homeowners report's 2022 data year, transcribed per state and cross-checked against the countrywide row; the NAIC does not publish county premiums, so county rows carry Census ACS 5-year (2023) records instead: total households, renter-occupied households, median gross rent and median home value per county FIPS. County names and centroids come from the Census 2023 Gazetteer. Puerto Rico and territory counties are excluded (no NAIC premium row). Figures describe published filings and Census records, never quotes: your premium depends on carrier, coverage and property.
